For the 100 yards and 220 yards events C. Jenkins (Wellington) on past performances looks the winner, with A- J. Elliott (Auckland) and R. Geddes (Otago) not far behind. ’ J. Fleming (Wellington) should now be in his beat form, and I predict him to win the quarter fiat, with L. C, McLachlan (Otago) and B, Geddes (Qtago) filling the minor places. The half-mile ia a very open race. C. B. Allan (Wellington), last year’s winner, is running as an individual competitor, but on Ids present form does not look like getting a place, O, McDonald (Wellington) and L. Q. McLachlan (Otpgo) should fight out the finish, with W. Ogg (Wellington) n©t far behind. The one and three mile events look like certainties for the Auckland representative, J. W. Savidan. The class in these two events Is very poor, but C. Gibbons, of Wanganui, should gain second place in the one mile, and E. B. Taylor, of Canterbury, third in the mile and second in the longer distance. The fields iu the hurdle events are small, and R. W. Lander (Wellington) should have no difficulty in leading the field home in the 120 yards. F. 8. Ramson (Wellington) on his running last week should again capture the 440 yards hurdles, with Lander in second place, and I. Manaon (Qtago) in third place. The walks should prove interesting events. Both Cabots, from Otago, will be competing. If W. Lankey (Wellington) has recovered from, his recent illness he should capture both titles. W. Tonkin (Wellington) on his time last week is a possibility. The field events contain an even lot of competitors, Wellington should win the shot and discus with P. Munro, ami the hammer with J. MeHolm (thojigl) if J. Leckie, Otago, strikes his best form, be may cause a surprise), _ I' 1 Brady (Wellington) is the most promising competitor in the high jump, and his most formidable opponent will be RH, Nevill, of Canterbury. S, Lay (Wanganui) ia a certainty in the javelin event, with E. G, Sutherland filling second place, The long jump la. on paper, a very open event, but G. R. White (Wellington)' haa the best performance to date. R. o, Johnson (Qtago) is improving, and mav win this event. The evergreen J. W. Shirley (Auckland) should again capture t)ie honours in the hop, step and jump event. J, M. BatBtone (Canterbury) is again seeking the New Zealand title in the pole vault, and he and E. G, Sutherland (Wellington) will be found striving for supreDjaoy. The cycling events have drawn the full numbhr of competitors, and keen competition cau be looked for. T. O'Brien (Canterbury) is showing fine form nt present, and I predict him to win the half-mile and one mile events. T. Oakley (Wellington) should capture the three mile event, with F. Grose (Canterbury) second and T. O'Brien (Canterbury) third. J. Wade (Auckland) i« also showing great form, and as many riders are more accustomed to a banked track than a grass one some surprises may be in store. TJm ladies’ 100 yards championship

contains a faster lot of sprinters than ever before, and the race will be run in record time if given a fine day. Miss Norma Wilson (Wellington) should be first, with Misss V. Nichol (Otago) second, and Miss C. Miller (Wellington) thirdThe Wellington team will have nothing to fear in the relay race. The undofeated Canterbury Club team won decisively by 24yds, after leading all the way. The time of 3min. 40 2-ssec. Is one of the best ever registered in the Dominion, and the Canterbury Club team must rank as the strongest club team In New Zealand, The Canterbury team consisted of C.
