SOUTH AFRICAN NEGRO REPUBLIC

A SOVIET DREAM ■ t' (United Press Association.—-By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) ("Times” Cables.) (Rec. February 18, 11 p.m.) London, February 18. The Riga correspondent of “The Times” states that Moscow has received an application' from the South African Federation of Native Trade Unionists requesting affiliation with the Red International Executive, which, after granting membership, “in view of the fact that these negro unions stand for class warfare,” sends fraternal messages to the whole negro proletariat of South Africa. It has instructed the International Committee to draw up a letter explaining the Red International’s views regarding native labour problems in South Africa and the creation of a South African negro republic.
