KING’S PROGRESS

IMPROVEMENT CONTINUES ABLE TO SIT UP FOR SOME HOURS (British Official Wirelees.) Rugby, February 17. Following Friday night’s bulletin reporting further slow progress by the King and increase in his weight since he was ,moved to the South Coast, it was stated on Saturday morning that His Majesty’s improvement continues to go on satisfactorily. It is understood that he was able to walk a few steps yesterday to the scales, on which he was weighed. He is, nevertheless, still very weak, and the process of recovery is slow, so that it is still emphasised that a state of convalescence is not yet reached. The cold weather has naturally not helped to accelerate progress. It was announced at Craigweil House, Bognor, this evening, that following a restful night the King had a good day, and is progressing satisfactorily. The sun shone practically all day, and the King was able to’ sit by the open window of his room. Today was the first occasion on which His Majesty was able to sit up continuously for some hours. Dr. Howitt came from London and supplied luminous ray treatment.
