RIOTS AT BOMBAY
HOOLIGANS A MENACE HINDUS SLAUGHTERED (United Service.} Delhi, February 11. An important menace at Bombay arises from the activity of hooligans, who light huge fires in the streets. Yesterday a tramcar was surrounded and stopped by a crowd of 200 Moslems armed with laths and knives. Parsees and Christians were allowed to depart, but Hindus were butchered, the tramcar resembling a slaughter-house. The Bombay Auxiliary Force has been called out to assist military headquarters. ESTIMATED CASUALTIES (Australian Press Association.) Delhi, February 11. The Bombay casualties are estimated to be now 120 dead and 650 wounded. The situation has not Improved. Assaults on Moslems and Hindus continue. Shops, schools, and kineinas are closed and the streets not cleaned. It! is feared that there will be an outbreak of disease.
