The tramway employees’ executive has, written to the Tramways Board stating that many cases of sickness among employees are due to the buttoned-up tunic they wear. The letter pointed out that the change to the more open coat of civil life when .the men come off duty renders them very susceptible to colds and chills, and suggested a change to a more open type of tunic. The executive has also suggested a new style of cap. more on the lines of those worn b.v railway porters, but so far the boajd has not replied to either sewesfe.
