There were about 1760 golf courses run by clubs in the United Kingdom at the beginning of last year, while the clubs in Great Britain have an annual membership of over 600.000. Dried salmon, pickled herrings, bloaters, kippers, and salt fish are not "fish,” according to the Stepney (Loudon) Borough Council, in decreeing what may or may not be sold in a street market.
