MAN FOUND DEAD
INQUEST ADJOURNED. A Coronial inquiry was held yesterday into the circumstances surrounding the death of Donald Dauiel Cameron, who was found dead at Ngahauranga on January 6. Mr. E. Page, S.M., presided. Evidence was given that deceased had been employed as a drover by the Wellington Meat Export Co., and he lived at the works. On Sunday, January 6, he spent the day playing cricket with companions at the Hutt Park, and was last seen leaving the park by the caretaker at about 8.30 p.m. He complained at the time of not feeling well. He was next seen on the bus going home. He left the bus at Muut, Cottrell’s buildings, complaining to friends that he was not feeling well. Further evidence was given that deceased was seen lying on the footpath near Munt, Cottrell’s buildings, when he seemed the worse for liquor. Deceased, it was stated, did not return home that night, A search was made, and he was found by the gate of his home. He was lying on his back, and it appeared that he had fallen. Dr. Lynch stated in evidence that he held a post-mortem on deceased and found him to. have a fractured skull. In order that further evidence might be called, the inquest was adjourned until Thursday next.
