ACCLIMATISATION
NORTH WAIRARAPA COMMITTEE. Masterton, December 4. Mr. R. J. Barton presided at a meeting of the North Wairarapa committee of the Wellington Acclimatisation Society last night. It was decided to hold another eel competition, for which the Wellington Society is donating the sum of £2 for the one catching the greatest number of eels. Mr. W. Andrew has donated £1 for the second prize. For the largest eel caught the Wellington Society has donated the sum of £l, which has been supplemented by the Wairarapa committee by £2. The prizes for the competition will be £1 10s., and for the largest eel, sftid second and third prizes, £1 and 10s. respectively. The annual meeting of license holders will be held on the first Monday in March, and a notice of motion has been tabled to the effect that the Waingawa River, west of the traffic bridge, be limited to artificial fly fishers only.
