PUBLIC BENEFACTIONS

LATE MR. W. H. BAILEY'S WILL ’The late Mr. Walter Henry Bailey, who died at Wellington on November 10, directed his trustee, after providing for certain legacies and annuities, to hold the balance of his estate for: (a) The Wellington City Council for public swimming baths; (b) the Massey Agricultural College, Palmerston N--"* for its g eneru i p urposes; ( c ) Dr. Barnardo’s Homes. The City Council and the institutions named shared equally in the residue of the estate. It is too early for the trustee to indicate the extent of the benefit that the deceased gentleman has conferred on the community, but it is understood that eventually the bodies concerned will receive approximately £5OOO each. The Public Trustee is the executor nominated in the will, and will have the services of Mr. C.'G. Turner, of Messrs. Salek, Turner and Brown, as advisory trustee.
