Tn the Supreme Court at Dunedin yesterday Charles Jackson, a wharf labourer at Bluff was sentenced to three months hard labour for receiving goods knowing them to have been stolen (states a Press Association, telegram). Sir. Justice SlacGregor said that but for the jury s strong I’ecommendation to mercy he would have imposed a much more severe sentence, as offences of this kind were much too common.
At Auckland yesterday morning the inquest on Freda Helen Clark, aged 29, who was found dead at Nurse Colnett’s nursing home.
