BAND CONTROL

MASTERTON TO COMPETE. Masterton, October 27. The Masterton Municipal Band has decided to enter in the B grade at the Dominion band contest, to be held at Wanganui in February. .It is. considered by the conductor (Mr. R. J.-Young) and members of the band that the best means will thus be taken of improving the standard of the band’s playing. Steps are now being taken to raise funds for the trip, and as one move in that direction a night carnival is to be held at the park oval by the Masterton Amateur Athletic Club.
