♦ DISPUTE WITH FARMERS SETTLED (British Olflcia) Wireless.) Rugby, September 19. A dispute between farmers and milk distributors as to the prices of milk during the twelve months beginning October 1 was settled last night, after eight hours’ sitting of the Permanent Joint Committee. The agreement gives the farmers prices which work out at an average of Is. 3d. per gallon over the year. They gain an increase of live-twelfths of a penny. Instead of the seven-twelfths of a penny they demanded. The retail prices now charged are (id. per quart in the six summer months, and 7d. in the six winter months. Under the new contract 7d. will be charged during eight mouths of the year and (id. during the other four months.
