HOCKEY REFEREES’ DISPUTE
HONOURABLY SETTLED. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Christchurch, September 19. . Following a meeting of the management committee of the Canterbury Hockey Association, it was announced that Mr. 11. H. Down had apologised to Mr. Davey, who has accepted the apology an<i has expressed a wish to withdraw his letter of complaint to the association. In view of this the management committee unanimously decided to rescind the previous resolution. i The incident is therefore closed in a manner creditable, to all parties concerned. ; .i. ■;> : , , ,r ' [Because-of -a-remark passed by Mr. Down to Mr. Davey on the refereeing of a match, the former, who is secretary of the NeW , Zealand Hockey Association, was suspended as a referee.]
