That being the occupier of premises iu Gore Street he did use the said premises as a common gaming bouse was the charge preferred against the secretary of the Bluff Civic Carnival Committee in the Bluff Magistrate's Court this morning. The case arose out of a recent carnival there, when apparatus for the games was procured from Dunedin for money-raising purposes. The prosecution practically constitutes a test case, ns the same apparatus has been used in Dunedin for some time and is almost idciitical with that used at the exhibition. Accused was convicted aud fined £2 and costs 10s.
