Captain Courtney, the British airman, ■ was forced down at sea, 500 miles from the Azores, while attempting the second stage of his Hight to America. After achieving the first stage of the Hight from Lisbon to the Azores, he had been held up for over a month by bad weather. Last night the outlook being reported fair, he left Horta, in the Azores, in tin attempt to reach •Nova Scotia. He apparently ran into a storm and was on his way back to Horth when compelled to come down. ‘ He had three men with him. He sept out a wireless message calling for immediate help, but stating that there was no immediate danger. Three liners —the Cedric and Celtic, of the White Star Line, and the President Hayes, of the Dollar Line—raced to his assistance.
