MANAGEMENT • COMMITTEE « The Management Committee of the Wellington Football Association met last night. There were present: Messrs. W. Duncan (chairman), W. B. Hicks, F. Mackie, J. M. Coleman. R. G. Weir, A. J. Nlmmo, H. Spolski, M. Auld, E. W. Heath,. F.' Plant, and the secretary (Mr. B. Mabln). . - The following changes have been made in next Saturday’s fixtures:—Second B Division, Johnsonville v. South Wellington, Anderson Park No. 1, E. Ormrod; Second C Division, Diamonds v. Hutt, Lyall Bay No. 2, F. Thorn. The fixtures for Saturday, July 21, are as follow:— , . . , First A Division Championship; Hospital v. Petone: Institute v. Y.M.C.A. ;Marist v. Seatoun: Diamonds v. Thistle. First B Division Championship: Materside v. Marlst; South Wellington v. Johnsonviile; Brooklyn v. Hutt; Thistle v. A Division.: Y.M.C.A. v. Petone, Petone Recreation Ground. , Missing Referees. The South Wellington Club wrote that the appointed referee failed to appear to take their game with Hutt last Saturday. The game was taken by Mr. Gates, of South Wellington Club, a qualified referee, South Wellington fortunately having a reserve present. Complaints were received that there were other games in which appointed referees had failed to put in an appearance. Mr. Plant asked that the names of the defaulting referees should be forwarded to the Referees’ Association. Some cases might be due to certain referees engaged on the waterfront having a late call in the morning to work in the afternoon. In these circumstances it was very hard for Mr. Yeoman to find a substitute or to inform the clubs. The names are to go to th® Referees Association. ... The Johnsonville junior team wrote correcting the championship table. In which they had been credited with one loss, whereas they had won all ten games, with 50 goals for and 10 against The team Intended to ask for a permit to play in Nqlson towards the close ol the season. Chatham Cup.
The New Zealand Council wrote that the Hawke's Bay v. Manawatu match for the Chatham Cup would be played at Hawke’s Bay next Saturday, and the winners would play Wellington Wellington on July 28. In the event of the winners being Hawke s Bay It was proposed that Wellington should play them in the Manawatu district in order to save expense, and enable both teams to return the same day. A Diamonds player who had been reported for repeatedly questioning the decision of a referee was cautioned. The Waterside Club are to be informed that they cannot now be given transfers for players of the Petone third grade team, which was withdrawn from the C °The f YALC.A. third A team, Jvhlch has come through from the Fifth B Division, wrote asking for a game on the Basin Reserve as curtain-raiser. The request was referred to the Fixtures. Committee for favourable consideration.
