WINTER SHOW BUILDING

PART OF WALL COLLAPSES. A portion of a wait in the Winter. Show Association's building collapsed Friday night, when a strong wind was blowing. The section which crashed was a reinforced concrete arch some 50 feet in lengJi. 22 feet in height, and 14 inches in thicKncss. and weighed some 20 t° ns ‘ V"., arcli. one of three on a level with the lop floor of the main building, was completed and stayed, ready for. the erection of the roof principals. The arch broke oft at the base, and fell outwards, damaging a quantity of flooring timber that stacked, below. Had it fallen the other wav a great ileal more damage might nave been done. The accident will not only cost the contractor a considerable sum of money, but will delay the progress of the building, which is now beginning to make an impressive show on what was formerly waste ground. Steps have been taken already to reconstruct the fallen arch.
