PATRON'S MEDAL TO WILKINS FOUNDER’S MEDAL TO DR. 1 LONGSTAFF (British Official Wireless.) Rugby, June 19. When Captain Sir Hubert Wilkins was yesterday presented with the Patron’s medal of the Royal Geographical Society, in recognition of his 2200 miles- Arctic flight last April, he made a gift in return to the Society of I lie Union Jack, which had accomnaied him and Lieutenant Eielson on their journey, and which he always carried on flic 18.000 miles flying in
the Arctic Circle done during the last three years. Wilkins paid a tribute to the assistance received from British, Australian, and United States friends.
Other awards made by the Society included the Founder's medal to Dr. Longstaff for the discovery of the Saiehou glacier and geographical work in the Himalayas. Dr. Longstaff reachthe summit of Arisul 21 years ago, the highest summit scaled by any man who survived. He is now in Greenland, and the medal was handed to his wife.
