DANCE

•A well-attended- dance was held in St.' Frances’s Hall, Hill Street, last night, in aid of the Lewishdm Hospital fund. This was one of a number of social functions to be held before the Street Day in August, which will be the culminating effort. The promoters are anxious to make as much as possible, for the hospital is nearing completion, and will be ready for opening early next year. There were about two hundred couples present last night, and all had a most enjoyable time. The committee in. charge consisted of Mesdames J. <T. McGrath, H. Plimmer, J. Timmins, and Miss Wilkinson, and Mr. «T. -J. McGrath was lion, secretary and M.C. Supper was served downstairs, and the ladies saw to it that the guests were well prdvided for. During the evening an exhibition dance of the Waltz and Yale Blue was given by Miss Barbara Putnam (who recently returned from England) and a partner, and was much enjoyed. Among the visitors to the dance were Mr. Alfred O’Shea and his concert party.
