IMPROVEMENTS AT HOKOWHITU

A special meeting of the Manawatu Golf Club passed a resolution recommending the adoption of a scheme by Mr. C. 11. Redhead, adviser to the New Zealand Golf Council, for improvements to the Hokowhitu links. The estimated cost is £7OO-to £BOO.

A four-ball bogey match played at Hokowhitu links to-day resulted as follows: Mrs. R. McMillan (16) and Miss Wood (26), 7 up; Miss Pringle (16) and Mrs. L. Cooper (20), 1 down; Miss J. McFarlane (24) and Mrs. Wingate (25), 2 down; Miss N. Moore (8) and Miss E. Macmillan (11), 4 down; Mrs. L. Seifert (12) and Mrs. Wason (14), 4 down; Miss Kearns (20) and Miss Cunningham (24), 4 down; Mrs. R. Hooper (26) and Miss.E. Parsons (24), 4 down; Miss W. Scott (7) and Mrs. Ekstedt (17), 5 down. A junior competition over 14 holes was won by Miss N. Innes (91). CARTERTON CLUB. Carterton, May 21. The second round for the medal handicap, played bj’ the Carterton Golf Club on the Taratahi links on Saturday afternoon, was‘won by Mr. G. Hart with a net score of 152. ’ G., W.
