PROVINCIAL PERSONALS
Mr. and Mrs. E. B. Ellerm have left New Plymouth for Auckland, where Mr. Ellerm will take up the position of librarian at the Leys Institute. The Rev. F. McDonald, of Pahiatua, is in Wellington, where he attended the annual meeting of the New Zealand Alliance. He was accompanied by Mrs. McDonald.
Mr. G. W. Healey, Palmerston North borough gas manager, was accorded a vote of condolence by the Borough Coupcil at the meeting on Monday night, in the death of his mother.
The following officers have been elected to the Masterton Rotary Club for the ensuing year:—President, Mr. 11. M. Peacock; vice-president, Mr. 8. L. P, Free; secretary. Mr. R. Lee; treasurer, Mr. G. W. Sellar; directors, Dr. G. 11. Uttley and Mr. H. E. Hart.
At a kdrero of the Carterton Savage Club on Saturday night, Mr. J. W. Barnard, who has been associated with the club since its inception, was presented with a case of pipes, as a token of esteem from the members, upon his leaving to reside in Greytown. Mr. T. S. George, of the Carterton staff of the Bank of New South Wales, will leave shortly on transfer to the head office at Wellington. “WARM IN WINTER.” Long ago, in some remote part of the earth’s history, it is related that a frequent saying was: “May you keep warm in winter.” Whatever primitive man did not know, he fully realised the value of that wish, not only for comfort, but for health.
