Too dear land, losses on sheep, bad health, bad seasons, and heavy expenses were tlm reasons for failure given by Arthur Thomas Shields, formerlj- a farmer. of Hawarden, when lie met his creditors to-day.
Tlie Official -Assignee said that (he bankrupt had lost £4OOO of his own and £4001) owing to creditors, and there were no assets. There was no clear statement as to wliere the money had gone, but one could imagine a great deal—buying of land and stock at high prices, and selling them at low prices. 3he meeting was adjourned.
