LOCAL BODY LOANS
APPROVAL OF BOARD A meeting of the local Government Loans Board was held on Wednesday at the Government Buildings, the following members being present:— Messrs. R. E. Hayes, 1.5.0., Secretary to the Treasury (chairman), K. A. Anderson, of the Bluff Harbour Board. Invercargill; F. W. Furkert, C.M.G., Engineer-in-Chief and Under Secretary, Public Works Department; W. J. Holdsworth, chairman Auckland Electric Power Board: G. A. Lewin. Town Clerk, Dunedin; S. A. 11. Mair. Engineer to the Rangitikei County Council. Twenty-seven applications for loans totalling £431.540 were dealt with, including three renewal loans amounting to £11,500. Loans for £407,19(1 were sanctioned, the balance, £24,344, being either declined or referred back to the local authority concerned for further information.
