WEEK-END WEATHER

RAIN PROBABLE “The anti-cyclone which has been controlling the weather over the Dominion since the beginning of the week is passing gradually away eastwards,” said an official at the meteorological office yesterday. “A fairly intense cyclone appeared to be centreing this morning east of Bass Strait and is moving eastwards fairly rapidly. It is expected that the barometer will begin to fall shortly in New Zealand and the winds to freshen from the north. The weather will gradually become unsettled and fairly general rain seems probable for the week-end.”
