TO-DAY’S WEATHER FORECAST

Meteorological Office, Wellington, May 11, 4 p.m. The anti-cyclone is now centred north of Chatham Islands. A moderate cyclone is located to the east of Tasmania and is advancing eastward. Northerly winds, light to moderate at first, but freshening. Seas generally smooth to moderate, but rising soon from Cook Strait southwards. Strong northerly winds and rising seas in the eastern Tasman Sea. Weather fair to fine at first, and in the South Island cool, but gradually becoming unsettled, with rain later and warmer temperatures.
