WANGANUI WEDDING
Wanganui, May 11,
On Wednesday at Christ Church, ■Wanganui, the wedding was solemnised by the Rev. Weller, of Gertrude Florence, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. Gibbard, of Rapanui, to Cyril Henry Mitchell, of Lower Hutt. The church was decorated for the occasion by friends of the bride. Mr. L. Seddon officiated at the organ. The bride, who entered the church on the arm of her father, wore a frock of cream marietta, with trimmings of silver and pink. A flouncing of silver lace was worn round the skirt, and a silver panel fastened with rosebuds, fell from the waist| Her embroidered lace veil was arranged in mob cap style,' and fastened with sprays of orange blossom. She carried a shower bouquet of pink chrysanthemums, roses, and maidenhair fern, and silver shoes and stockings completed the bridal toilette. Miss Nancy Skelton, of New Plymouth, attended as bridesmaid, wearing a frock of rose pink crepe de chine, and a crinoline hat to tone. The bouquet was carried out in shades of pink and white, with maidenhair fern. The bridegroom was attended by Mr. Robert Harris, of Wellington, as best' man, and Mr. William Gibbard, of Rapanui, was groomsman. After the ceremony a reception was held, Mrs. Gibbard receiving her guests in a smart winecoloured charmalaine dress, with hat to tone. Mrs. Mitchell, the bridegroom’s mother, wore a heliotrope and black frock. Mrs. G. R. Storey, the bride’s sister, was dressed in pink crepe de chine. The bride and bridegroom left later by motor-car for the north, Mrs. Mitchell travelling in a beige reppe frock, with hat to tone, and a smart saxe blue coat trimmed with fur.
