PURCHASE OF PICTURES.
The amount collected for the purchase of the three pictures now on view at the autumn exhibition of the Academy of Fine Arts has reached the total of £llO 10s. 6d. McEldowney, £1 Is.; Sir Robert and Lady Stout, £3 35.; Charles Haines, £1 Is.; J. Ellis, £1 Is.; R. G. Anderson, £1 Is.; A. M. Anderson. £1 Is.; H. A. Ewen, £5 55.; Dr. D. F. Myers, £5 55.; F. G. Maunsell, £3 3s. Further subscriptions to the extent of £(& are required to enable the council to acquire the work May Morning,” by Harold Speed.
