INQUEST OPENED

An inquest to inquire into the circumstances sUrroiiiHliiig the death of Leslie Harold Jones, aged 3, who died at the Public Hospital at 1.10 a.m. on March 21, irom injuries received in an accident near the Seatoun tunnel on March 19, was opened before the Coroner, Mr. E. Page, S.M., in the Magistrate’s Court yesterday. Proceedings were conducted by Constable F. A. H. Baker (Wellington South Police), who stated that the inquest was being opened for purposes of identification only, as the others concerned in the accident were not yet in a fit condition to attend at Court. He could not say when they would be able to attend.

After evidence of identification’ had been given by deceased’s father, the Coroner adjourned the inquest sine die.
