PORTERS ASSAULTED
. MAN SENT TO GAOL. BV TIILEGEAPH.-PRESS ASSOCIATION Christchurch, March 22. In the Magis.rate’s Court to-daj William James Whitla was sentenced ta fourteen days’ imprisonment tor assaulting porters on the Lyttelton train, and to two months’ hard labour lor using obscene language in the presence of women. He was also convicted for drunkenness. The’ Magistrate (Mr. Lowry) said: — “Railway officials have a dangerous time without having added danger from wen like you.”
