Bathing in tho more sheltered bays of Auckland has been relieved of a good deal of its refreshing pleasure during the past few da vs by the presence of thousands of small jellyfish (says the "Star"). The tepid wafers of Judges Bay—enclosed by he new waterfront railway embankment but for a small gap left for tidal scouring purposes and the convenience of yachtsmen—in particular has been invaded by these Medusa. While they take the edg? off the evening’s dip, bathers find their use tor them, and “jelly throwing” has become a popular recreation, except with the unfortunate who gets the benefit of a few stray shots. One Parnell resident is experimenting with the transparent fish, which he declares make good manure for his garden, and, incidentally, as they dissolve in the sun, impart a certain degree of moisture to his plants.
