TOWN AND COUNTRY .Mrs. W. P. Janies has returned to Masterton from Wellington. Mr. and Mrs. R. Cashman, with their son, 'Mr. S. Cashman, of Oriental bay, spent the holidays with Mr. and Mis. C. Olsen, of Parkville, Eketahuna. ■ Mr. and Mrs. Howard Jackson, of Carterton, have taken a house «t Eastbourne for the holidays. Miss' Rita Doney, of Wellington, has returned home from a visit to Eketahuna, where she was the guest cf Miss Voigt. Miss' A. Webb, of Christchurch, is the guest of Miss Ibbetson, Masterton. Mr. and Mrs. Wilkie Anderson, of Eketahuna, are visiting Wellington. Miss M. McKay, of Napier, if, tjie guest of Mrs. G. 11. Petry, ‘’Heatherlea,” Masterton. Miss Agnes Farmer, of Eketahuna, is on a three weeks’ visit to Auckland. Mrs. Lewis and Miss May Lewis have returned to Masterton from a trip to Rotorua.

Dr. and Mrs. McKay, of Palmerston North, will leave to-day for Dunedin, on a fortnight’s motor tour. Miss Joyce Morrison, of Dannevirke, is in Palmerston North for the tennis tournament. . . Mrs. G. Harper, of Wanganui, is a visitor to Hamilton. Miss Molly Hogg, of Auckland, is at present in Hawke’s Bay. Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Young and family, of Palmerston North, have gone to Plimmerto.n for a holiday. ■ Mr. and Mrs. Lilburn, of Wanganui, are spending a holiday at litahi Bay. Mr. and Mrs. Bond, of Wellington, who have been fishing, at luapo, are at present in Palmerston North. Miss Betty Joske, of Sydney, is spending a holiday in New Zealand, and is at present the guest of Miss Sybil Baldwin, of Marton. Miss’ I. Tandy has returned to Wellington after a visit to Palmerston North. Miss Marjorie McNaught, of Dunedin, is visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. G. McNaught, Wanganui. Mr. and Mrs. A. Guy and Miss Freda Guy, of Palmerston North, will leave New Zealand on February I on a visit to England. Dr. and Mrs. George Hall, Surrey, England, are visitors to Wanganui. Miss Lorraine Wiinsett, of Palmerston North, left on Saturday, with her brother, Mr. Ogilvie Winisett, to tour the Marlborough Sounds, Nelson, and West Coast districts. Mr. and Mrs. L. Bryant, pf Wellington, have been staying in Hastings, and were the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Chadwick. Misses Dalkeith and Kona Clark and Miss May Benfield have returned to Wanganui after a holiday spent in Wei-' lington, *’ Miss G. Wallace,_of Levin, is spending the holiday vacation in Rotorua and Wairakei. The marriage of Miss M. Barber, England, to Mr. Frank Lethbridge, of Turakina, son of Mr. and Mrs. G. Lethbridge, Hawke’s Bay, took place at St. George’s Church, Wanganui, on last. A reception was afterwards held at the residence of Mr. B. P. Lethbridge, of Turakina. MADAME MENERE’S HINTS ON FURS. Sprinkling furs with pepper and then wrapping them up in paper will not keep the moth away, declares Madame Menere. The only way to keep the moth out is to every few days give the furs a good shaking and beating with a cane. No moth constantly disturbed in a fur is going to lay eggs there. —Advt.
