“PARLIAMENT OF WOMEN”
PRINCIPAL MOTION REJECTED (Rec. October 13, 9.25 p.m.) London, October 13. The so-called “Parliament of women” rejected the proposal to concentrate on a single reform annually. 1A message received from London a few days ago stated: The National Council of Women of Britain, which includes 145 societies covering all phases of women’s interests, is to meet at Bournemouth on October 11. The principal motion will be one to the effect that the council agrees to concentrate upon the one great question of national reform, and each year shall make a united effort throughout the country to secure the accomplishment of reform. Other motions will include demands for equal franchise for men and women; the raising of the minimum marriage age to 18; the protection of young stage performers ; and better provision for women police.]
