BOUNTY PAYMENTS

Returns tabled in the House of Representatives show that during the year ended June 30 last the amount paid out by the Federal Ministry under the various Bounty Acts amounted to £530,000. Manufacturers of iron and steel received £256,000, and growers of dried fruit, the Tasmanian hop industry, and canned fruit packers, £242,000. The bounties on sulphur amounted to £34,000.
