Tn “The Sunshine Girl,” staged by Masterton amateurs, an event long anticipated, the acting was of a very high order, and the whole performance was thoroughly enjoyed. . . A large and representative gathering assembled at the Oddfellows’ ball to farewell Constable Squire, a popular member of the police force, who is leaving on transfer fp Eastbourne. Mr. w. B. Martin, chairman of the Town Board, presided. Several speakers paid a tribute to the work of Constable Squire, who was presented with a suit ease, while Mrs. Squire was asked to accept an afternoon tea set and Miss Squire a cheque.. At the conclusion of the meeting of St. Andrew’s Guild, Mrs. C. McAHum, on behalf of the guild, presented Miss Dymes with a handbag and silver knife in recognition of her long service as hononary secretary. The Rev. Fleury spoke of the efficient manner in which Miss Dymes had carried out her duties, winning the esteem of all members .
