As a timber for joinery purposes, pinus insignis lias been scorned in the past, but one joiner in Christchurch has started making doors out of the timber, and a very handsome job it makes (states the "Sun”). Pinus insignis shows promise of being eminently suitable for this class of work, as, stained and polished. it produces a very fine article. What is important, too. he says, is that the timber shows no sign of moving when put into place.
