NEW ASSISTANT ENGINEER

NO RECOMMENDATION YET “There is still nothing to announce about the appointment of the new as-sistant-city engineer,” stated the Mayor (Mr. G. A. Troup) yesterday. Applications for the position closed some weeks ago, but no recommendation for appointment has been made. It is over twelve months since Mr. Brigham (the previous assistant-city engineer) retired, and it is six months since Mr. J. M. Morice (city waterworks engineer) left the corporation on superannuation. The Mayor said that it is hoped that the appointee to the position of assistant engineer may serve the city in both capacities.
