WOOL PROSPECTS
LEADING BROKER OPTIMISTIC PRICES NOT LIKELY TO SOAR BUT MARKET EXPECTED TO BE FIRM Dominion Special Service. Auckland, October 10. An optimistic view of the approaching wool season is taken by Mr. H. Hill, a prominent wool broker, of Christchurch, who returned by the Aorangi from Vancouver after a seven months’ tour of the United Kingdom, the Continent, and the United States.
“I do not anticipate that the prices will be very high, but the market should be firm right through,” stated Mr. Hill. “Conditions in England have improved so considerably that there is certain to be a good demand for wool. There should also be a good demand from the Continent.” Asked if he knew whether Russia would be operating in the Dominion during the season, Mr. Hill stated that he had heard a Russian buyer was coming here, but nothing appeared to be definite.
