Mrs. Godfree beat Frau Neppach, 6—l. 6—4; Crole-Rees beat Kleinscliroth, 6—4, G—4, 6—2; Moldenhauer, the German champion, beat Higgs, 7—5, 6 —o, 6—l; Demasius beat Greig, 4—6, 4 —6. 6—4, G —4. 7—5. Mrs. Godfree and Miss Betty Nuthall beat Frau Neppach and Fraulieu Neppach, 6—2, 6—3. PETONE CLUB. The opening of the Pctonc Tennis Club took place on Saturday, there being a large attendance of members and friends. Mr. IV. G. Lodder, the new president, conducted the ceremony, which' was followed by afternoon tea and an exhibition match between Messrs. McGill and N. Wilson. The season promises. to be an excellent one for the club, as, although the inembership list is not quite full, yet there is much enthusiasm shown by all, and the courts are already in use constantly.
