A return presented to Parliament yesterday Rives the, number ,of men. retired on superannuation medically unfit or over age, deceased, dismissed and resigned from the Bailway Workshops during the two years ended June. 1927. as 347. Of these 185 were permanent and 102 casual employees. The majority of the vacancies were tilied by surplus staff. No boilermakers were dispensed with at the .main workshops as the result of the importation, over that period, of boilers, of wlner len were imported from Britain and nony from America.
