« Mr. D. E. Parton, of Christchurch, is visiting Masterton, and is the guest of Mr. C. E. Daniell, Ivlathon Lodge. Mr. A. 11. Vile, of Oamaru, is at present visiting Masterton, his former place of residence. Mr. Charles Kilsby, one of the best known and highly respected residents of Otaki, died on Tuesday night at the Palmerston North Hospital. For some months the late Mr. Kilsb’’ bad been in very indifferent health. Deceased had lived for many years in Otaki as a farmer, and was well-known as a breeder of Jersey stock. He was for some time a valued member of the old Town Board, later became a leading borough councillor and a member of the Horowhenua Power Board. He was also chairman of the Rahut Dairv Company, and as such did splendid work. For some years Mr. Kilsby was a Justice of the Peace, and ablv carried out his duties. The deceased was born at Johnsonville in 1866, lived his earlier life in Ohariu Valiev, removed to Palmerston North in 1883, and eight years 1.-.ter went to the Paliiatua district, where he resided till he went to Otaki twentytwo years ago. Much sympathy is expressed for his widow and his daughters (Misses Olive and Nora Kilsbv), also for his brothers, Harry (Palmerston North), Janies (Stratford), Alfred (South Australia), and Walter (Levin). Mr W. E Kilsby, a member of the Horowhenua County Council, is a nephew. ’ The friends of Captain S. V. Trask, of Palmerston North, will reeret to hear that his physical condition is causing anxietv. Mr. J. Morpeth, of Wellington, is a visitor to Palmerston North. Mr R. M. Firth, manager of the Wanganui office of the Tourist Department. is visitino New Ilvmouth. Mr. T W. Downes, supervisor for the Wanganui River Trust, is visiting Taumarunui. Mr A E Bedford, of Napier, has been elected a member of the Hawke’s Bav Ilosnital Board. Air J A Dixon, of Datinevirke, will shortlv be taking un his resi--tepce in V\ r ainnkur.su. Mr J Thomson tend valuer, was a recent visitor to Takanau. Mr P I II O’Connor l-ite of the staff of the H-astinirs ra’to’av has been transferred to Woodville.
