VISIT TO ROME
OF LORD MAYOR OF LONDON Rugby, September 30. The Lord Mayor of London, Si? Rowland Blades, and the Lady Mayoress, accompanied by their two elde? twin daughters, left London this afternoon on their official visit to Rome. The partv will be tlie guests of Pnncss Potenzia.ui, Governor of Rome, whd has taken for them a suite of apart- i ments at the Anibassadors Hotel; Elaborate preparations have been mada for their welcome, and an imposing programme has been organised. Rome: will be gay with flags and bunting. The partv will be received by Signee Mussolini, and probably by rhe King o« Italy and the Pope. An official dinner will be given in their honour by the Government and the municipality; at the Capitol; they will attend a gala performance at the opera, and they ■will make excursions to various places of historic interest. The Lord Mayor will lay wreaths on the tomb of the Unknown Soldier, and on the of Kings of Italy at the Pantheon, iha visit will last five days.—British Official Wireless.
