4 NEGOTIATIONS WITH BRITAIN AND AMERICA

October 2, 5.5 p.m.) Paris, October 1. “Le Temps” savs a member of the Chamber of Deputies’ Finance Committee during a meeting on September 29 pointed out that the Franco-American debt agreement expired on January 31, and the temporary Franco-British agreement expired in June. He asked whether the Government was postponing a settlement until next Parliament. i M. Poincare, expressing regret that the question had been raised, revealed the beginning of fresh negotiations. The Ambassadors at London and Washington had already received instructions, of which he refused to disclose the nature. —A.P.A. and “Sun.”
