MOTOR TRADERS
4 ASSOCIATION SMOKE CONCERT. On Tuesday night members of the Wellington Motor Traders’ Association and members of subsidiary sections of the association held a combined smoke concert. There was an excellent attendance of members. Amongst those present were the following guests:— Messrs. T. Nicolson and H. H. Newton, representing the oil companies; John E. Madden, J. Stuart and Browning, representing the wholesale tire importing companies; J. Salter, G Lister, F. M. Thomson and J. F. Cousins. Mr. D. H. Edgar, president of the Wellington Motor Traders’ Association, presided Community singiug was enjoyed, and items wire contributed by the following: Messrs. E. E. Dean, A. G. Edwards, J. Bryant, A. R. Brokenshire, E. Quirk, A. Church, A. J. Mazengarb, and J. Hines. The toast, “Our Guests," was proposed by Mr. D. JI. Edgar and responded to by Mr. J. F. Cousins. The toast, "The Wholesale Tire Importing Companies,” was proposed by Mr. D. C. Armstrong and responded to by Mr. J. E. Madden, chairman of the Wholesale Tire Importing Companies’ Association. The toast, "The Oil Companies," was proposed by Mr. P. C. Elliott, and Mr. T. Nicolson, manager of the British Imperial Oil Co. Ltd., suitably replied. Mr J. Stuart was entrusted with the toast “The Wholesale Motor Importing .Companies.” and this toast was responded to by Mr. O. Bush. The toast "The Artists,” who greatly contributed to the success of the smoke concert, was proposed by Mr. H. IlNewton, and Mr. E. E. Dean, on behalf of the artists, expressed pleasure at being associated with the members of the trade.
