WELLINGTON MEETING ON SATURDAY.
Tho Wellington Trotting Club advertises that iu addition to the special race trains on Saturday, the ordinary service to Petone will be available. These trains run at frequent intervals throughout the morning, and will be met by tho usual motor service at Petone. A point that sloqld not be forgotten by the public, when the horses lino up at Hutt Park for the Cup Trial Handicap, is that the winner will not incur a penalty for the New Zealand Cup. It should be a stirring contest, and on present it looks as though tho proverbial blanket might cover the field at the finish. Tho gras? track at Hutt was open again yesterday, and was availed of by the local trainers. Mr. B. Edwards has booked accommodation for a team of seven, comprising Black Admiral, Ciiimer, Locanda Child, Zolock Palm. Sarsaparilla, Necrson, and Hori Dillon. The club has had to erect more stalls in order to cope with the acceptors for the forthcoming meeting, '‘'his is a good sign. A Press Association message from Sydney states that at Hie sale of the Belltrees stud, Mr. P. Nagel, New Zealand, purchaseil tho brood mare Golden Shio for 475 guineas.
