Masterton, September 12. At the monthly meeting Of the Mauriceville County Council. Mr. R. Judd occupied the ciiair. The treasurer reported a credit balance of £1605 145.. and It was decided to place on bank deposit at interest such an amount as was not required tor immediate purposes, at the discretion of the chairman. Accounts -amounting to £321 6s. 4d. were u» work necessary on the Kaipororo Road be done as soon as possible to prepare for metalling this season. It was agreed that the loan moneys raised for the road bo placed on bank deposit at interest until required for the work. The clerk was instructed to communicate further with the Lands Department in regard to the proposal to plant trees on certain reserve lands. A letter was received from the Te Kuiti Borough Council suggesting recommendations to the Government with a view to facilitating (ho collection of Native rates. After consideration, the meeting decided to support the proposal. The work of repairing the south rood bridge was left in the hands of Councillor C. B. Seymour.
