Bd. The Mavor’s fund now stands at £176 4s. Bd. SYMPATHY FROAI CITY COUNCIL. Reference to the Dobson mine disaster was made bv the Major (Air. C. J. B. Norwood) at last night’s meeting of the City Council. The unfortunate happening, he said, had cast a gloom over the whole community, and he feltsure that councillors would join with him in expressing sympathy with the relatives of those who had lost breadwinners in the disaster. On the Mayor’s motion, a vote of sympathy with all who had suffered be-, reavement was passed, the councillors all rising to their feet. The Mayor intimated that as the result of the public appeal he had made tlie sum of £179 6s. Bd. had been subscribed towards the relief fund.
