In to-day’s issue the Railway Department advertise particulars of the alterations to the train service and the issue of special cheap excursion tickets in connection with the Manawatu and West Coast A. and P. Show, to be held at Palmerston North on November 2, 3 and 4. The fares are at a very cheap rate, and return trains for Wellington. Wanganui, Foxton, Masterton, and Waipukurau leave Palmerston North late in the afternoon, thus enabling people to have all day at the show and return home the same evening. These facilities should entice people to travel by rail to the show. Some of the horses used by the mounted police in London are valued at as much as 1500 each.
