BOXING

TO-NIGHT’S TOURNAMENT. A final reminder is given to patrons of boxing of to-night’s contest between McCarthy and Trowern at the Town Hall. An unprecedented demand tor seals is reported, and indications are that when the plan closes this afternoon a record for the season will be the result. The association has adopted tho principle followed throughout the season of reserving only a portion of each section of seats, and holders of early door tickets are promised a good position providing they attend at 7 p.m. At <.15 a limited number of tickets will be available from the boxes outside the hall. Proceedings will be opened with four amateur preliminaries, and in these some keen bouts are anticipated. In conjunction with the military authorities tho association is promoting the first annual tournament between units of the Cadet and Territorial companies, and this tournament, extending over three nights, is to be hold at the Drill Hall, Buckle Street, on October 26, 27 and 28.
