HEALTH WEEK
PROGRESS OF THE CAMPAIGN The dav attendances at the Health Week exhibition in the Town Hall yesterday included a large party from the Marist school, and also children from Koro Koro school. After inspecting the exhibits, the children were given a "Health Talk” by a school doctor. A number of talks were also given by members of the medical profession at city business houses during the day. “The communitv should support the health week organisers in every possible way,” declared Mr. A. B. Balt, chairman, at the Health Week gathering in the Town Hall last night. "Thev have made a great personal sacrifice in an endeavour to teach sound principles of health.” A large audience heard a most instructive lecture on “The Skin of Your Teeth.” There was also a display by the St. John Ambulance, and an entertainment bv Madame Briggs’s concert party. A film, “New Zealand, Brighter Britain,” was screened. A “Health Talk” by Dr. H. J. McLean was broadcast from the Radio Company’s studio. It is hoped to make a start to-dav with the refuse collection in block. 2, beginning at Roseneath and working through to Seatoun. PROGRAMME FOR TO-DAY. Morning.—Health Talks at Cathies Ltd., Aspro, Ltd., and Wellington Woollen Mills.
Afternoon.—l2.3o to 1.30, Community Sing, Town Hall. Health Talks at St. Patrick’s College, Kirkcaldie and Stains, and Whitcombe and Tombs. 3 p.m., Dietary Talk and Demonstration by Miss Rennie, Cookery Room, Technical College, Mercer Street. Evening.—Town Hall, chairman Mr. Marcus Marks. Lecture, “Worry the Disease of the Age.” Entertainment, Mrs. Myers’s Concert Party. Lecture, “Parental Control,” Rev. T. Fielden Taylor. Jupp’s Band.
