A remarkabte sanatorium for sick animals is being established on thirtv acres near Ilford, including an annual hospital and operating rooms, X-ray chambers, and a college for the training of S.P.C.A. assistants _ There is even a sanctuary with nesting boxes for birds Sick animals in the wards are never to be left unattended, and nurses are to be relieved every eight hours. A telephone at any hour of the dav and night will enable an ambulance to be sent to a casualty The sanatorium is possible owing to the will of the late Mrs.. Grovegrady, a lover of animals, who died last year.
